In 2004, it was moved to the SongJiang Campus and renamed the University Physics Experiment Center, one of the main bases for experimental teaching.

Since its inception, the University Physics Experiment Center has always been committed to the construction and development of its own reforms. In the construction and development for adapting to the features of the university, the Center tries to meet the teaching requirements by the Ministry of Education, and strives to achieve professional support by closely integrating with the different schools on campus. Over the years, through a variety of funding inputs by the City Board of Education and the school, the Center now has fixed assets of more than 8.53 million, with an area of over 3589 square meters and more than 1,487 pieces of various laboratory equipments, opening more than 120 experimental projects. In strengthening laboratory hardware construction, the Center also established a well-managed and reasonable structured faculty, which includes 11 full-time teachers, of whom more than 7 teachers are associate professors, and 10 have master's degrees, 6 laboratory technicians, including 4 with master's degree. Currently, the University Physics Experiment Center provides physics experiment courses for Professional Engineering majors and some management majors. Each year the number of students participating in experiments here is over 3800, with up to 120,000 students’ experiment hours.
