On April 10-12, 2026, the 2026 International Conference on Optimization: Techniques and Applications (ICOTA 2026), hosted by Shanghai University of Engineering Science, was held in Songjiang, Shanghai, bringing together nearly 300 experts in optimization from home and abroad. President Lou Yongqi delivered a video at the opening ceremony, which was chaired by Dean Wang Guoqiang of the School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics.
The conference featured 7 invited plenary lectures covering frontier directions such as stability of multi-agent optimization, optimal control, transportation problems with stochastic demand, sustainability economics, learning-based algorithms for combinatorial optimization, efficient solution of linear and convex quadratic programming, and differential stochastic variational inequalities. It also included 25 thematic seminars and 8 keynote reports on polynomial optimization, modern optimization theory, bilevel optimization, integer programming, manifold optimization, stochastic optimization, non-smooth and non-convex optimization, matrix optimization, Riemannian optimization, and dynamical systems and optimization algorithms. More than 100 experts from over ten countries and regions gave presentations, and faculty and students of SUES delivered 9 talks in total.
