On the morning of April 13th, 2026, the School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics held an academic lecture titled "On Difference of Convex Functions Programming" in Room 1308 of the Administration Building. The lecture was given by Distinguished Professor Panos M. Pardalos of the University of Florida and chaired by Professor Wu Jianbao, Vice Dean of the School. Faculty and graduate students took an active part.

The lecture was both theoretically deep and practically valuable, and aroused great interest among those present. In the interactive session, faculty and students exchanged views with Professor Pardalos on theoretical extensions of DC programming, algorithm implementation and their application in engineering optimization. Professor Pardalos also shared his classic works and latest research results in the field of global optimization, encouraging young scholars to explore frontier problems in optimization theory. In his summary, Vice Dean Wu Jianbao noted that the report not only broadened the academic horizons of faculty and students but also provided valuable ideas and methods for the School's research in optimization theory and applications.
