On May 8, 2025, the School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics invited Professor Lin Haixiang from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands to give a lecture titled "Decision Support Systems for Energy Transition and Green Transportation". Faculty and students of the School attended the lecture, which was hosted by Dean Wang Guoqiang.

Professor Lin discussed the global energy transition trends, the optimization of green transportation systems and intelligent decision support technologies in depth. Combining the latest international research findings, he elaborated on how to construct efficient low-carbon transportation decision-making models using big data analysis, artificial intelligence and operations research methods, and shared his practical cases in several urban transportation emission reduction projects in Europe and China.

The report provides important inspiration for the college's research in sustainable transportation and smart energy, and will further promote academic exchanges between the school and Delft University of Technology.
