On June 3rd, 2023 International Conference on Optimization and Statistics with Applications was successfully held in Shanghai University of Engineering Science. This conference aims to provide an academic exchange platform for domestic scholars and international experts in the fields of optimization and statistics, focusing on the frontier and development of statistics and optimization in the context of the rapid development of digital economy. Professor Wang Guoqiang, Dean of the School of Mathematics, Physics&Statistics, presided over the conference, which was attended by experts and scholars from all over the world, as well as faculty and students of the School.

The conference adopted a combination of online and offline formats, with more than 120 participants, increasing the breadth and depth of academic exchanges. A total of 11 experts and scholars from the disciplines of statistics and optimization and their related fields were invited to give 7 invited presentations and 4 featured presentations.

The success of this international conference provides a high-level academic sharing platform for experts, young scholars and students of the disciplines of optimization and statistics. It has effectively promoted the cross-fertilization and development of optimization and statistics disciplines in our university, as well as the development and construction of disciplines in the field of statistics and optimization.
