In order to further promote the international cooperation of the School, and better serve the international development of the university, on May 29th, Professor Jiyuan Tao from Loyola University Maryland was invited to give an academic lecture entitled "Some Log and Weak Majorization Inequalities in Euclidean Jordan Algebras" for teachers and students in Room 1308. The presentation was hosted by the Dean of the School, Professor Guoqiang Wang.

Prof. Tao firstly introduces the research motivation of this report through Horn's Log-Majorization inequality. Secondly, he explained the fundamental properties of symmetric cones and Euclidean algebers. He then focused on Euclidean logarithms and weak Majorization inequalities. Finally, Prof. Tao had an in-depth discussion with the participating faculty and graduate students on some inequalities in Euclidean algebra and their applications in statistics and other fields.
