School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics held an exchange meeting on the construction of first-level Master's degree in Optical Engineering

Recently, the first-level master’s degree of Optical engineering applied by our university has been approved by the 37th meeting of the Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council, and will carry out the first enrollment and training work in 2023.On the afternoon of July 17th, the School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics held an online exchange meeting on the construction of first-level Master's degree authorization in Optical engineering. Qian Huimin, Secretary of the Joint Party Committee, Yin Zhixiang, Dean of the School, Wang Guoqiang, Vice Dean of the School, and backbone teachers of physics discipline attended this meeting. The meeting was presided over by Vice Dean Wu Jianbao.



Prof. Qian Huimin pointed out that the approval of the first-level master’s degree in Optical Engineering was a result of the strong support of the university leaders, the active organization of the Party Committee and leaders of the school, the concerted efforts of the backbone teachers of the school. It is a successful application of interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts of the school. Prof. Yin Zhixiang stressed that the establishment of Master's degree program in Optical Engineering is of great significance to the long-term development of physics faculty and talent training. Prof. Wang Guoqiang introduced the enrollment requirements of the current program in three directions and some attention points in the future evaluation of the program. Prof. Wu Jianbao introduced the investigation of the subjects of the preliminary and secondary examination of the enrollment of the Master’s degree of Optical Engineering in various universities in China.

It is agreed that in the process of the future construction of the program, the schools should continue to coordinate resources, integrate and innovate construction elements, so as to form a focused development of the discipline and constantly promote the high-quality development of the optical engineering discipline.
