School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics; Jing Zhou

On the morning of October 31st, Professor Xu Jianqiang, Party Committee Secretary of the School of Science at Shanghai Institute of Technology, along with his delegation, visited the school for an exchange meeting. In attendance were Zhang Chaomin, Party Committee Secretary of the Joint Committee of Mathematics, Physics& Statistics and Foreign Languages; Wang Guoqiang, Dean of the School of Mathematics, Physics&Statistics; Vice Deans Wu Jianbao and Zheng Zhongtuan; as well as heads of various departments.

Secretary Zhang Chaomin delivered a welcome address and provided an overview of the school’s initiatives in Party building. Dean Wang Guoqiang elaborated on the school’s overall profile, covering its historical evolution, faculty development, current disciplinary advancements, and achievements in teaching and research, comprehensively showcasing the school’s strengths and distinctive features.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in enthusiastic discussions on topics such as faculty development, disciplinary construction, industry-academia integration, and performance evaluation. The exchange revealed shared philosophies and developmental directions between the two institutions. This visit served as a valuable platform for mutual learning and laid the groundwork for further in-depth collaboration and interaction.
