On August 8-12, 2025, the Global Optimization Conference (GOC 2025), hosted by Shanghai University of Engineering Science, organized by School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics, and co-organized by the Shanghai Operations Research Society, was grandly held. Top global scholars in the field of global optimization gathered to discuss the latest breakthroughs in the theory and applications of global optimization through plenary lectures, thematic seminars, and short courses, covering fields such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and financial engineering.
The conference featured 7 invited plenary reports and 11 keynote reports, totaling 39 presentations. The content covered topics including non-smooth optimization theory and algorithms, optimization theory and methods, approximation and numerical methods, game theory and equilibrium optimization, machine learning and computational intelligence, scheduling and production optimization, optimal control and dynamic systems, robustness and feasibility analysis, multi-objective and surrogate optimization, non-convex and sparse optimization, among others. This demonstrated the deep integration of global optimization theory with fields like artificial intelligence and financial engineering.
The successful hosting of GOC 2025 reflects our university's growing international influence in optimization research, further promoting theoretical exchange and innovation within the field, and advancing international cooperation and disciplinary development.
