On the afternoon of June 12, Professor Jiyuan Tao from Loyola University Maryland delivered an academic lecture titled "Some w-P Properties for Linear Transformations on Euclidean Jordan Algebras" in Room 1308 of the Administration Building, upon the invitation of the School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics. The lecture was presided over by Professor Wang Guoqiang, Dean of the School.
Professor Jiyuan Tao, who has long been dedicated to research in matrix analysis, optimization theory, and Jordan algebras, systematically introduced the w-P class properties of linear transformations on Euclidean Jordan Algebras (EJAs) during his presentation. He further explored their significant applications in fields such as symmetric cone optimization, quantum information, and numerical computation. Finally, he illustrated the potential value of w-P properties in semidefinite programming (SDP), statistical modeling, and quantum state analysis with concrete examples.
Professor Tao's lecture skillfully combined depth with clarity, not only broadening our understanding of Jordan algebras but also providing new directions for future research.
