On Oct. 23rd., the 2021 National Symposium on Experimental Design and Statistical Science was held in Rizhao, Shandong province. Dr. Li Chunya from the School of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics is invited to attend and give a special presentation on "An Implicit Likelihood Method for Parameter Calibration in Metro Simulations".

In her report, Dr. Li Chunya firstly stated that the accurate simulation of subway passenger flow is a crucial method to achieve the safety control and management. Secondly, she pointed out the difference between subway passenger flow simulation and traditional deterministic computer simulation. Finally, a maximum hidden likelihood method combined with actual data is proposed to estimate some calibration parameters in the simulation.

Intelligent transportation is an important entry point for China's construction with strong transportation network, and it is the field in which China takes the lead in the world in the building China’s strength in transportation. The subway simulation work studied by Dr. Li Chunya has practical application value and actively serves the goal of building China’s strength in transportation.
