Zhou Jing

In response to China's international education policy and the "Belt and Road" initiative to cultivate talents in mathematics and statistics with aninternational perspective, the School of Mathematics, Physics andStatistics invited Dr. CHEONG HUEY TYNG, deputy Dean of the School of Mathematical Science of Sunway University, Malaysia to have a symposium on the construction of the discipline on March 27th.

Prof. Wang Guoqiang extended a warm welcome to Dr. CHEONG and expressed his sincere gratitude for the promotion and support of the joint doctoral programme. Dr.CHEONG gave some guiding opinions on the construction and training plan of thediscipline. Subsequently, the two sides also had in-depth exchanges anddiscussions on the joint training of students. Dr. CHEONG introduced in detailthe beautiful campus environment of Sunway University, Malaysia, the strong faculty and the main research fields of the School of Mathematical Science, and explained the application conditions for the joint training ofdoctoral programme.

Thesuccessful holding of the symposium further deepened the friendship between two sides, createdvaluable opportunities for international exchange and cooperation for our postgraduate students, and enhanced the level of discipline construction and international influence of our school.
